Ques - A is 40% more than B and B is 60% less than C. If C is 60% more than D, then which of the following is true?(SSC CPO 2019, 12.12.2019 Shift-1)
(a) C is 60% more than B.
(b) B is 36% less than D.
(C) D is 4% more than A.
(d) A is 54% less than C.
Solution - Let,
D = 100
C = D + 60% × D
C = 100 + (60/100 × 100)
C = 160
B = C - 60% × C
B = 160 - (60/100 × 160)
B = 64
A = B + 40% × B
A = 64 + (40/100 × 64)
A = 89.6
Suppose,
B is less than D = [(D - B)/100 × 100]
= [100 - 64]
= 36
Therefore,
The correct answer is option (b) B is 36% less than D.
