Solution - 

C.P. of KML scooter = 28,000

Abishek gives a discount of 10% on whole.

= 28,000 - [28,000 × (10/100)]

= 28,000 - 2800

= 25,200

Abhishek's S.P. = 25,200

Bhanu gives a discount of 12% on the first Rs. 20,000 and 8% on the rest Rs. 8000.

Discount on first  20,000 = 20,000 - [20,000 × (12/100)]

= 20,000 - 2400

= 17,600

And,

Discount on rest 8,000 = 8,000 - [8,000 × (8/100)]

= 8,000 - 640

= 7,360

Total discount given by Bhanu = 17,600 + 7,360

= 24,960

Therefore,

The difference between their selling prices = 25,200 - 24,960 

= 240

Hence,

The correct answer is option (a) Rs. 240.

Alternatively :

                   Abhishek        Bhanu

Discount =     2800        2400+640 = 3040

The difference in selling price is same as the difference in discount = 3040 - 2800

= Rs. 240
