Ques - Five numbers a, b, c, d and e are in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 5 : 8 : 9 and their sum is 162. Find the average of all these numbers :
(a) 27
(b) 30
(c) 32.4

Solution -
Five numbers a, b, c, d and e are in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 5 : 8 : 9.
Let,
a = 2x
b = 3x
c = 5x
d = 8x
e = 9x
And,
The sum = 162
2x + 3x + 5x + 8x + 9x = 162
Average = Sum of value / no. of value
= 162/5
= 32.4
Thus,
The average of all these numbers are 32.4.
Hence,
The correct answer is option (c) 32.4
