Term and service conditions of State Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioner

The State Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioner shall hold office for a term of five years or till the age of sixty-five years, whichever is earlier, and shall not be eligible for reappointment. The State Information Commissioner shall be eligible for appointment as the State Chief Information Commissioner but his term of office shall not exceed five years in aggregate as the State Information Commissioner and State Chief Information Commissioner. The State Chief Information Commissioner and State Information Commissioners take oath before the Governor or any other person authorized by him. State Chief Information Commissioner and State Information Commissioner may resign his office at any time by writing under his hand addressed to the Governor. The salary allowances and conditions of service of the State Chief Information Commissioner shall be the same as that of the Election Commissioner of India. The pay allowances and conditions of service of the State Information Commissioner will be the same as that of the Chief Secretary of the State. The salary, allowances and conditions of service of the State Chief Information Commissioner and the State Information Commissioner will not be changed unfavourably after their appointment.
