The University Grants Commission conducts the UGC NET, also known as NTA UGC NET, twice a year on behalf of the NTA (National Testing Agency). It is a national-level eligibility test used to assess candidates' eligibility for the "Assistant Professor" or "Junior Research Fellowship & Assistant Professor Programme" in colleges and universities throughout the country.

UGC NET is a single-day computer-based test with two parts, Paper 1 and Paper 2, totaling 300 marks (Paper 1 - 100 marks and Paper 2 - 200 marks). The UGC NET test can be taken in 82 subjects at various exam centres across India.

The upcoming UGC NET exam is expected to be organised twice in the month of December 2022 & June 2023 tentatively. Candidates will be able to apply from second week of September 2022 tentatively for December session and the UGC NET admit card for the same will be issued on the official website of UGC NET.

UGC NET 2022 Application Form: Step-By-Step Process

The NTA's official website will have online application forms for the December 2022 exam. The following is a step-by-step process for completing the online application form:

    • Registration
    • Filling out the Application Form
    • Uploading a scanned photograph of yourself and your signature.  
    • Payment of the Examination Fee

 

Registering for the exam -

  • After completing the authentication form, fill out the registration form with basic information such as the candidate's name, parent's name, Date of Birth, mobile number, and email address.
  • Check the information once more before clicking the'submit'
  • When you successfully register, a message will display on the screen requiring you to enter the system-generated application Note down of the application number.

 

Completing the Application Form

Following successful registration, you must complete the application form. By saving the data, you can complete the application procedure more than once. Follow the instructions below:

  • Navigate to the login
  • Enter your application number and password to log
  • The application form will be shown. There are four steps in the application process:

    • Uploading of Scanned Photo (Passport-size) of yourself and your Signature.  
    • Payment the Examination Fee.
    • Print the Confirmation Page.

Upload Scanned Photo & Signature

Pay the Examination Fee

  • Following the upload of the document, you will be routed to the fee payment
