What is governance?

Governance is a broad concept that includes different parts of governance, different levels of governance (international, national, regional, and local), their rights, responsibilities, and a clear outline of their scope. Relations with the organs of government and other various government, non-government organizations and institutions, state-citizen relations, protection of rights of citizens, nature of governance (welfare and other), etc. factors affect the governance system.

The United Nations Development Program defined governance in 1997 as  " the exercise of economic, political and administrative authority to manage the affairs of a country at each level". It includes the mechanisms, processes, and institutions through which citizens and groups express their interests, exercise their statutory rights, fulfill their responsibilities, and resolve their views.

In the year 1993, the World Bank defined governance as "Governance is a method by which power is exercised in the management of a country's political, economic and social resources for development  ". In the context of this, governance has been analyzed in a primary manner in terms of transparency, accountability, and judicial reforms.
