The Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioner shall hold office for a term of five years or till the age of sixty-five years (whichever is earlier) and shall not be eligible for reappointment. The Information Commissioner shall be eligible for appointment as the Chief Information Commissioner, but his term of office shall not exceed five years in aggregate as the Information Commissioner and the Chief Information Commissioner. The Chief Information Commissioner and other Information Commissioners take oath before the President or any other person authorized by him. The Chief Information Commissioner and the Information Commissioner may at any time resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the President. The salary allowances and conditions of service of the Chief Information Commissioner shall be the same as that of the Chief Election Commissioner. The salary allowances and conditions of service of the Information Commissioner shall be the same as of the Election Commissioner. The salary, allowances, and other conditions of service of the Chief Information Commissioner and the Information Commissioner shall not be changed to a disadvantage after their appointment.
