Brief about Uttarakhand

The state of Uttarakhand was formed on 9 November 2000 and its capital is Dehradun. Uttarakhand was earlier known as Uttaranchal but in 2007 the name of “Uttaranchal” was changed to “Uttarakhand”. Uttarakhand is also known as "Dev Bhoomi" where many religious places are located. The Char Dham (Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri) have special significance in Uttarakhand.

Devotees come to the Char Dham to worship with their reverence. The environment of the state of Uttarakhand is very beautiful and scenic. Many people come here to roam in different places. There is a total of 13 districts in Uttarakhand which are as follows: Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Haridwar, Almora, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Bageshwar, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar.
