Bhotia
- The border parts of Tibet and Nepal in the state are called Bhot Pradesh. The people residing in the Bhot region are called Bhotias.

Tharu
- Tharu tribe considers itself as Rajput from maternal side and Bhil origin from paternal side.

Buxa or Bhuxa
- Buxa people reside in Bajpur, Gadarpur, Ramnagar, Dugadda, Doiwala, Vikas Nagar, Sahaspur development blocks of Dehradun district located in Terai Bhabar.

Shoka
