Born in Uttarakhand, India's Devbhoomi, Yogi Adityanath is currently the 22nd Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Mahant of the Gorakhnath temple located in Gorakhpur. Yogi Adityanath was also a Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur from 1998 to 2017, followed by the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. In this election, he was contested as a candidate for the post of Chief Minister, in this election BJP became the largest party of Uttar Pradesh by winning with huge votes. After this, on March 19, 2017, Yogi Adityanath took oath as the Chief Minister and after that in the assembly elections held in 2022, Yogi Adityanath is going to take oath as the Chief Minister for the second consecutive time, achieving a huge victory.

Yogi Adityanath's real name is Ajay Singh Bisht , he changed this name to Yogi Adityanath while retiring at the age of 22 .  Yogi Adityanath was born on 5th June 1972 in Panchur Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand, the land called Devbhoomi of India.  

Yogi Adityanath 's father's name was Anand Singh Bisht who was a forest ranger, his mother's name is Savitri Devi, his father died on 20 April 2020 and at that time the time of Korana was going on, due to which Yogi Aadityanath performed the last rites of his father. I could not go even in his family there are seven siblings in which three sisters are elder and one brother is older than him and 2 brothers are younger than him.

Yogi Adityanath started his studies bald, in the year 1987 he passed class 10th. In 1989, he obtained his intermediate degree from Bharat Mandir Inter College. 

While studying in 1990, he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. After that in 1992, he obtained a B.Sc degree in Mathematics from  Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Srinagar .

After this Yogi Aadityanath took admission in post-graduation in science in Rishikesh and with him joined the Ram temple movement.

Along with studies, Yogi Adityanath joined the Shri Ram Mandir movement and along with this he came here to do research on Gorakhnath in Gorakhpur, after coming to Gorakhpur, he came under the shelter of his uncle Avaidyanath and took initiation from him. Took it In 1994, he became a full-fledged monk, after which he changed his name from Ajay Bisht to Yogi Adityanath . 

On 12 September 2014,  Yogi Aadityanath 's guru Avaidyanath went to Devlok, after that he was made the Mahant of Gorakhnath temple, after 2 days according to the tradition of Nath sect, Yogi Aadityanath was made the Peethadheeshwar of Gorakhnath temple.  

Now , when it comes to Yogi Adityanath 's coming into politics, Yogi Adityanath 's guru Avaidyanath was a Lok Sabha MP from 1991 to 1996, after which Yogi Adityanath was asked to contest from Gorakhpur seat and the public also appealed to him that you can take the Gorakhpur seat. Yogi Aadityanath first contested the elections from Gorakhpur in 1998 as a BJP candidate and then he won by a very small margin. But after that his margin of victory increased in every election and he was elected MP in 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014. He also formed Hindu Yuva Vahini in April 2002. 

Due to being an MP in the Lok Sabha elections continuously, Yogi Adityanath was campaigned in the entire state by the National President of BJP in the 2017 assembly elections from Yogi Aadityanath .

On March 19, 2017, in the meeting of the BJP Legislature Party of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath was elected as the leader of the legislature party and handed over the chief minister's post.

 

In the election held in March 2022, Yogi Adityanath has again become a contender for the post of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh by winning the Gorakhpur city assembly seat by 1 lakh 2000 votes.

Along with this, there was a deadly attack on Yogi Adityanath in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh on 7 September 2008 . After this, in many other controversies, Yogi Adityanath was also tried under various sections and had to go to jail.  

Yogi was in a lot of discussion against conversion and for returning home. In 2005, Yogi Adityanath allegedly purified 1800 Christians and converted them to Hinduism. This purification work of Christians was done in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.
