A consumer is an individual who requests and consumes certain goods or services in exchange for a payment corresponding to the value of the said product. The consumer can be a natural or legal person.

The consumer is an economic agent who has key participation in the markets since he is in charge of requesting the good or service offered by the seller.

Studying the consumer is key because these are the individuals or organizations that may be interested in the particular good or service produced or offered.
