Eighty-ninth Constitutional Amendment, 2003

The amended provisions of the Constitution through the 89th Constitutional Amendment-

By this Constitutional Amendment Act, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Tribes has been divided into two parts. Now their names will be National Commission for Scheduled Castes and National Commission for Scheduled Tribes respectively. Both the commissions will have a chairman, a vice-chairman and three other members. They will be appointed by the President.
