Raja Kunwar Singh –

It was the Raja of Jagdishpur who took part in the revolt of 1857. To honor his contribution to India's freedom struggle, the Government of Bihar established the Veer Kunwar Singh University in Bhojpur district in 1992.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad –

He was the first President of India and also the first President to be in office twice. He was born in Jiradei, Siwan district of Bihar. He was a prominent leader of Bihar during the Salt Satyagraha of 1930 and Quit India Movement of 1942. He became the President of the Indian National Congress during the Bombay session of 1934.

Dr Anugrah Narayan Sinha –

He was the first Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and also held the charge of the Finance Ministry of the Indian state of Bihar. He was called "Bihar Vibhuti".

Jagjivan Ram –

He was a leader of the Dalit community and a founding member of the All India Depressed Classes League.

Shri Krishna Singh –

He was the first Chief Minister of Bihar. He is known as Shri Babu and Bihar Kesari.

Bismillah Khan –

He was born in Dumrao district of Bihar. He was a famous shehnai player. In 2001, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna.

Girja Prasad Koirala –

He was born in Sahasa district of Bihar. He was elected Prime Minister of Nepal four times.
