Ques - If A is 48% more than B and C is 60% less than the sum of A and B, then A is what percentage more than C? (Correct to one decimal place.)

 (SSC CPO 2019, 11.12.2019 Shift-2)

(a) 50.8

(b) 49.2

(c) 50.2

(d) 49.8

Solution - Let,

B = 100

A = B + 48% × B

A = 100 + (48/100×100)

A = 148

C = (A + B) - 60% (A + B)

C = (148 + 100) - 60/100 (148 + 100)

C = 248 - (0.6 × 248)

C = 248 - 148.8

C = 99.2

Then,

A is more than C in percentage = [(A - C)/C × 100]

 = [(148 - 99.2)/99.2 × 100]

 = (48.8/99.2) × 100

 = 49.2

Hence, The correct option is (b) 49.2
