Ques - Out of a sum of Rs. 625, a part was lent at 5% SI and the other at 10% SI. If the interest on the first part after 2 years is equal to the interest on the second part after 4 years, then the second sum (in Rs.) is :
(a) 250
(b) 300
(c) 125
(d) 275
Solution -
Given,
Total Principal = 625
R1 = 5%
R2 = 10%
T1 = 2
T2 = 4
P2 = ?
(P1×R1×T1) / 100 = (P2×R2×T2) / 100
(P1×5×2) / 100 = (P2×10×4) / 100
P1/P2 = 4/1
P1 : P2 = 4 : 1
So,
P2 = 625 (1/5)
P2 = 125
Therefore,
The second principal is Rs. 125.
Hence,
The correct answer is option (c) 125.
