Removal of Central Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioner
The Chief Information Commissioner and the Information Commissioner can be removed from office by the President on the basis of proven misconduct or incapacity on the basis of the report of the Supreme Court. Apart from this, they can also be removed from office by the President in the following circumstances-
*in bankruptcy
* On being convicted of an offense
* Engaged in paid employment elsewhere during the term of office
* Being mentally and physically disabled;
* Relating to any contract or agreement entered into by or on behalf of the Government of India.
