Removal of State Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioner

The State Chief Information Commissioner and the State Information Commissioner can be removed from office by the Governor on the basis of proven misconduct or incapacity on the basis of the report of the Supreme Court. Apart from this, they can also be removed from office by the Governor in the following circumstances-

 

* On bankruptcy:

*  On being convicted of an offense;

* Engaged in paid employment elsewhere during the term of office

* Mentally and physically disabled: and

* In connection with any contract or agreement entered into by or on behalf of the Government.
