Seventy-fourth Constitutional Amendment, 1992
The amended provisions of the Constitution through the 74th Constitutional Amendment-
Constitutional status and security were provided to urban local bodies. For this purpose, the amendment added a new Part IXA which was named 'Municipality' and 18 functional items of Municipalities were added in the new Twelfth Schedule.
