Nowadays, work has become central for the majority of the population. Taking into account the socio-economic situation and the demands of the system, work implies a strong imperative within the circuits of productivity. This need in turn contrasts with the difficulties faced by many to achieve it.

Overworking can be a problem, and not working at all can be. We are again faced with the need for balance, framed in conditions of greater or lesser possibilities from the social and economic point of view. And also in potentialities from the emotional-psychological, which can collaborate or hinder these attempts at balance.

In people who have access to a job, and who find that, within such a system, more and more hours dedicated to work are required and difficulties to disconnect from it, a self-registration resource that allows checking levels of stress and exhaustion to be able to make decisions before their progress has effects on health, both mental and emotional as well as physical.

This also applies to the area of study, especially highly demanding university careers, which often lead to stress and great difficulties in registering when a break is needed.

We know that currently conflicts derived from stress and anxiety abound. Feelings of uncertainty, poor working conditions, excessive demands, and a scant record of one's own needs complicate the picture.

We must incorporate resources to be able to position ourselves in a receptive place towards ourselves, being willing to listen to fatigue and respond to the needs of dispersion that may be latent without being observed.

In many cases, this record comes along with physical discomfort or illness. Back pain or muscle ailments in general, headaches, colds, or recurrent relapses due to low defenses, infections, gastrointestinal symptoms, or episodes of anxiety are among the most frequent.

It is interesting to be able to detect the first signs of fatigue, which may allow a change of position to avoid reaching, at least in some cases, this type of episode.

First signs.

Among the first signs can be found constant distractions or difficulties in concentration. Although these symptoms may be due to a very diverse number of causal factors, it is undoubtedly a very frequent manifestation of mental exhaustion and the need for a break from work and production (valid as a sign par excellence in students).

Irritability and constant mood swings can also be signs of tiredness.

Signs of physical tiredness and sleep difficulties may also manifest. Both difficulties sleeping or insomnia and difficulty getting up and starting activities

Decreased sexual desire and general lack of motivation in relationships and towards people around the person.

Disorganization. Overlapping tasks or plans. Difficulty connecting with the present situation.

Constant worry and difficulty for enjoyment.

Almost exclusive attention to work. Or on the contrary, evasion of all responsibilities.  In these cases, opposite behaviors can be at the service of the same need. The important thing in evasion is to record precisely what occurs because a break is needed and to ensure that it is convened more consciously.

Although there are many other possible manifestations, knowing and being able to detect how this need for rest is particularly expressed is a way to be able to intervene with self-care actions that prevent potential future conflicts.
