Elimination of corruption is essential for achieving good governance. The problem of corruption arises in almost all countries, whether they are developed or developing. It has been proved in itself that corruption is not only morally emergency, but it also creates serious economic distortions.
The objective of governance reform is to effectively improve the levels of efficiency in various government departments and to provide mechanisms to ensure that public services are provided effectively.
Corruption levels have been high over the past decade, according to the Corruption Indices presented by the World Bank and Transparency International , but have remained at roughly the same level . The fact is that the concept of increasing corruption is a different issue, so there is a need to stop corruption and adopt strict measures for it. The best way to prevent corruption is to have a mechanism that minimizes the possibility of such malpractices. One such mechanism is the formation of Lokpal and Lokayukta in India on the lines of Ombudsman.
