Solution -
Given,
A + B = 2040
B = 140% of A
Let,
A = 100x
B = (140/100)*100x
B = 140x
Therefore,
A + B = 2040
100x + 140x = 2040
240x = 2040
x = 2040/240
x = 8.5
Now,
A = 100x
A = 100 * 8.5
A = 850
Hence,
The correct option is (c) 850.
